ICC Confirmed Revised Schedule for Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025

The ICC has revealed an updated schedule for the forthcoming ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup, which will take place in India and Sri Lanka.

Navi Mumbai has been designated as a replacement for Bengaluru as one of the five venues for the eight-team tournament, set to begin on 30 September, owing to the unavailability of the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

The DY Patil Stadium located in Navi Mumbai is set to accommodate as many as five matches, including three league games, a semi-final, and possibly the final for the 13th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup on 2 November.

The tournament schedule from 30 September to 2 November remains the same, along with the other venues, which include the ACA Stadium in Guwahati, Holkar Stadium in Indore, ACA-VDCA Stadium in Visakhapatnam, and R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

ICC Chairman Jay Shah asserts that the Navi Mumbai venue is perfectly suited for women’s cricket.

“Navi Mumbai has developed into a true home for women’s cricket in recent years. The support it has garnered during international matches and the Women’s Premier League has been extraordinary, fostering an environment that uplifts the players and motivates the fans. I am confident that this same enthusiasm will characterize the significant matches of the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup as it returns to India after a 12-year hiatus,” he stated.

“We find ourselves at a crucial juncture in the evolution of the women’s game. This World Cup holds the promise of being remembered as one of those pivotal milestones that will influence the future of the sport, not just in India but globally within the cricketing community.

“Although unexpected circumstances necessitated adjustments to the schedule and a change of venue, we are delighted to present a selection of five world-class venues that will highlight the finest aspects of the women’s game. The stage is prepared, and I am optimistic that this tournament will captivate audiences and inspire a new generation of fans.

The tournament final is scheduled to take place in either Colombo or Navi Mumbai on November 2. The first semi-final will occur in Guwahati or Colombo on October 29, while the second semi-final is set for Navi Mumbai on October 30.
