India’s Paralympic Champion Pramod Bhagat won two gold medals at the Yonex Australian Para Badminton International 2025 in Melbourne (October 21–25), keeping India at the top in para-badminton.

Pramod Bhagat’s Victories

Pramod Bhagat shone at the tournament, winning gold in both men’s singles (SL3) and men’s doubles (SL3–SL4).

Men’s Singles (SL3):
He beat fellow Indian Manoj Sarkar 21–15, 21–17. It was a tough match, with Sarkar challenging him at every point, but Bhagat’s smart play and consistency helped him win. After the match, Bhagat said, ‘Playing against Manoj is always tough because we know each other’s game so well.’

Men’s Doubles (SL3–SL4):
Teaming up with Sukant Kadam, Bhagat claimed his second gold by defeating Umesh Vikram Kumar and Surya Kant Yadav 21–11, 19–21, 21–18. The match went to three games, with Kadam and Bhagat starting strong, facing a comeback from their opponents, and finally taking control in the last game.

India was the standout nation at the tournament, winning medals across many categories.
