Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the continuation of Indian Premier League (IPL) season. It will be held from May 17 to June 3 in 6 venues. As per the revised schedule, the league is set to conclude on May 27; Qualifier 1 will be played on May 29 followed by Eliminator on May 30, Qualifier 2 (June 1) and the final on June 3.
The tournament was halted on May 8 during the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals due to a security incident, as Pakistan attempted to violate Indian airspace near Chandigarh.
On May 10, Indian director-general of military operations Lt General Rajiv Ghai and his Pakistani counterpart Major General Kashif Abdullah, reached an agreement to halt cross-border hostilities, the CBMs are being strengthened to ensure neither side “fires or initiates any aggressive and inimical action”, sources.
So, the BCCI is delighted to declare the resumption of the IPL 2025. After extensive consultations with government and security agencies, as well as all the key stakeholders, the Board has resolved to move forward with the remainder of the season,” the board said.
