India opener Smriti Mandhana has been recognized for her recent century against England by achieving a new career-high rating in the updated ICC Women’s T20I Batter Rankings.
Mandhana, currently the No.1 ranked ODI batter, dominated England with an impressive innings of 112 in Nottingham recently, which enabled the left-hander to ascend one position and reach third place in the latest T20I batter rankings.
She has achieved a new career-high rating of 771 points, bringing her within 23 points of the top-ranked player, Beth Mooney, in the T20I batter’s rankings.
In the same rankings, fellow Indian opener Shafali Verma has moved up one position to 13 places after scoring 20 runs in the match against England. Additionally, teammate Harleen Deol has re-entered the batter rankings, now tied for 86th place, following a brisk innings of 43 runs.
England fast Bowler Lauren Bell took three wickets during the match in Nottingham, and the tall right-arm bowler has moved up two positions to achieve a career-high ranking of fourth in the most recent T20I Bowler rankings.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s spinner Sadia Iqbal continues to hold the number one position among T20I bowlers, although the competition is fierce at the top, with only 44 rating points distinguishing the top 10 players.
The concluding match of the T20I series featuring the West Indies and South Africa also witnesses several players making progress in the most recent rankings, with the young South African talent Miane Smit rising from significantly below the top 100 to 76th place among T20I batters after her impressive half-century in that encounter.
