India’s first athletics gold medalist Neeraj Chopra is participated in Doha Diamond League. It will be held at the Suheid bin Hamid Stadium in Qatar.

Doha Diamond League commences on Friday, April 16. He will compete against 11 other javelin throwers, all aiming for the gold medal to launch the 2025 Diamond League.

According to sources, there are a total of 32 track and field events organized in the Diamond League.

Neeraj Diamond League 2022

In 2022, Neeraj Chopra made history at the first Indian to secure Diamond League Trophy. He threw of 87.86m, second best on a chilly night at the King Baudouin Stadium. Anderson Peters from Grenada won the inaugural Diamond League title with a throw of 87.87 meters, who is the bronze medalist at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Neeraj Chopra’s Best Performance

Neeraj Chopra won the historic gold medal in Javelin throw at the Tokyo Olympics 2020 (held in 2021). He threw of 87.58 meters and secured the India’s first-ever gold medal in athletics. Gold Medallist 1st attempted (87.03), 2nd attempted (87.58m), 3rd attempted (76.79m).

India’s 100+ years wait for an Olympic medal ended for an Olympic medal track and field.

Neeraj is the second Indian individual Olympic gold medallist after Abhinav Bindra (in shoot, 2008).
