Hockey Punjab is declared the champions of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2025 after securing victory in the Division ‘A’ final against Hockey Jharkhand with a score of 4-3.
The concluding day of the event showcased outstanding performances by Hockey Punjab and Uttar Pradesh Hockey, with both teams securing victories in their respective matches to earn the title and the bronze medal, respectively.
In the initial match between Uttar Pradesh and Hockey Madhya Pradesh, Hockey Madhya Pradesh began with a strong performance, they were ultimately outmanoeuvred by Uttar Pradesh Hockey in the final two quarters, as Ali Sharukh (42’, 47’, 51’) achieved a hat-trick. With contributions from Mohd Atif Raynee (40’) and Prahalad Rajbhar (55’), who each netted a goal, propelling their team to a 5-3 triumph. The goals for Hockey Madhya Pradesh were scored by Aashir Aadil Khan (13’), karan Gautam (20’), and Meezan Ur Rehman (58’).
The upcoming match between Hockey Jharkhand and Hockey Punjab was fiercely contested final, with both teams battling until the very end. Hockey Jharkhand commenced the second quarter with vigor, netting two consecutive goals by Ashish Tani Puri (21’) and Anish Dungdung (24’). Nevertheless, Hockey Punjab swiftly levelled the score with Akshit Salaria (29’) and Varinder Singh (30’) finding the back of the net in rapid succession. Jharkhand’s Sukhu Guria (42’) made an effort to turn the tide in his team’s favour, but a double from Punjab’s Mandeep Singh (45’, 53’) ultimately secured victory for Hockey Punjab, thus crowning them as champions of the 15th Hockey India Sub Junior Men National Championship 2025.
