Actor Ram Kapoor faced significant backlash for making a series of sexually inappropriate and offensive comments during the promotional activities for his upcoming show, Mistry. Following his remarks, which were aimed at publicists and the marketing team of the show and caused discomfort among the crew, the actor was excluded from further promotional events, with his co-star Mona Singh conducting solo interviews the next day.
Recently, it has been revealed that the cause of his withdrawal was not due to a personal obligation, but rather his inappropriate conduct during the junket on June 19. A source who was at the venue informed SCREEN that concerns regarding his behaviour began when he stared to mansplain during interviews and responded out of turn to questions meant for his co-star.
The situation escalated when he made an inappropriate comment to a member of the Jio Hotstar marketing team just as another journalist was putting on the lapel microphone prior to their interview. After inquiring about the number of interviews scheduled for the day, he added in frustration, “I feel like I’ve been gang-raped by elephants.”
