Mohammed Siraj Achieved the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award

A remarkable performance in the concluding Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy at The Oval secured Mohammed Siraj the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for August 2025.

According to news sources, Mohammed Siraj has been awarded the ICC Men’s Player of the Month title for August 2025 due to his relentless, match-winning spell against England in the Test at The Oval, which was the sole match he participated in during that month.

Siraj’s exceptional spell, where he claimed nine wickets at an average of 21.11 across both innings, not only led India to victory from a challenging position but also ensured that the fiercely contested series concluded with a score of 2-2.

The fast bowler was also honored as the Player of the Match in the final Test for his remarkable performance, which included a five-wicket haul in the second innings, during which he bowled 46 overs.

The right-arm pacer triumphed over competitors such as New Zealand’s Matt Henry and West Indies fast bowler Jayden Seales to receive the monthly accolade.

Siraj was the only Indian fast bowler to participate in all five Test matches against England, making him the leading wicket-taker as well, and maintaining the same level of intensity until the final day of the series was a commendable achievement.

“It is a special honour to be named ICC Player of the Month,” Siraj remarked.

“The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy was a memorable series, and it was one of the most intense contests I have been part of.

“I take pride in having contributed with significant spells, particularly during crucial moments. Bowling against a formidable batting lineup in their home conditions posed challenges, but it also brought out the best in me.

“This award is as much for my teammates and the support staff as it is for me, as their unwavering encouragement and belief motivated me throughout.

“I will persist in working hard and giving my utmost every time I don the India jersey.”

Siraj’s outstanding performances, which have been praised by cricket enthusiasts worldwide, also garnered admiration from ICC Hall of Famer Sachin Tendulkar, who expressed that the fast bowler’s contributions are often understated.
