Look At the Afghanistan’s Upcoming T20I Series Against Bangladesh

Following the Asia Cup, the two teams will face each other in the UAE for a series of three T20Is and an equal number of ODIs.

As the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 approaches, Afghanistan is preparing to strengthen their squad for the prestigious tournament in India and Sri Lanka, featuring numerous T20I matches.

After the T20I tri-series involving Pakistan and the UAE, along with the Asia Cup, Afghanistan is set to host Bangladesh for a white-ball series that includes three ODIs and three T20Is from October 2 to 14 in the UAE.

The series will kick off with the T20I matches on October 2, followed by the three-match ODI series starting on October 8.

Naseeb Khan, the CEO of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, along with Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the CEO of the BCB, eagerly anticipates the forthcoming series, aiming to enhance the relationship between the two nations.

Naseeb Khan remarked, “We take pride in hosting Bangladesh for this eagerly awaited series.

“This tour underscores the strength of our collaboration and our shared dedication to providing world-class cricket experiences, even at neutral venues. Fans can expect thrilling matches and high-level competition.”

Meanwhile, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB CEO, expressed, “We are excited to face Afghanistan in what is expected to be a thrilling and competitive white-ball series in the UAE.

“This tour not only offers significant competition following the Asia Cup but also symbolizes the mutual respect and robust relationship between our two cricket boards.”

The forthcoming tri-series involving the UAE and Pakistan marks Afghanistan’s inaugural T20I series of the year. Meanwhile, Bangladesh, following their successful T20I series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan, will compete against the Netherlands in a three-match T20I series.

To date, Afghanistan has encountered Bangladesh in 19 ODIs, securing victory in eight matches, while the Tigers have triumphed 11 times. However, the scenario changes in T20Is, where Afghanistan has achieved seven wins out of 12 encounters.
